In Upper Egypt near Luxor and Lower Egypt near Cairo there is a very stark contrast between the Nile valley with fields irrigated from the river and canals leading from the River Nile and the higher ground, just a few feet higher. The whole of the country's agriculture happens in the 10km or so width between the desert hills on each side.

As the population increases and spreads into the countryside, date palm groves are being despoiled and turned into rubbish dumps, particularly near Memphis. Photos are available. Many villages are well managed, however, and the apparent rubbish in the right hand photo below is simply discarded sugar cane and detritus from the animal enclosures behind next to the houses -
If the webmaster and his eldest son were to be reincarnated, we would like to come back as Egyptian Sugar Cane farmers:
The sun shines, the Nile water irrigates, the crops grow, the families sow and they reap
And the railway takes the crop away . . .
What could be more idyllic than a life among one's animals wandering free? These photos were taken mainly using a Fuji Finepix S602 camera often from a vehicle moving at 50mph. Photos Copyright David Pinnegar 2006

When enquiring PLEASE PROVIDE A TELEPHONE NUMBER. E-mail is not 100% reliable, so without a phone number our clients have no alternative means of contacting you. Enquiries go straight to the owner of the rental or property for sale . . . so if you are enquiring about more than one rental villa or apartment for sale or rent, please send an enquiry individually relating to each property. Except for pages for a minority of clients, your enquiry is not going to a letting agency for all the properties in a region - you are booking direct with the owner . . . and for the reason below, we feel that you can have confidence in doing so.
As webmasters we are not acting as agents but are publishing what our clients have asked us to market for them.
We expect that you should have a good experience buying a property for sale or booking a holiday rental through our clients, and if you don't (very rare), we like to hear about it! We beleive that you can have confidence in booking your holiday with our clients.
